do you have self control?

i unfortunately do not when it comes to avoiding the internet when there is much work to be done. thankfully my sister showed me this website: self-control

when the application downloads this screen will appear:

click on "edit blacklist" to open this screen:

here you enter the websites that rudely interrupt you from your days work. the websites you enter here will be the ONLY websites blocked. So if you are doing a research project the internet will be still opened for you to use without being sucked into checking your emails every five minutes.

after entering your websites  you can choose how long you need those websites blocked for. but remember you WONT be able to reach this websites until the predetermined time is up, even if you turn your computer off.

it rules, i just finished my paper with no distractions. its sad that i am so easily taken away from my school work but thankfully people like steve lambert exist.

also check out these websites that he mentions:
freedom - blocks all internet access for set periods of time by Fred Stutzman
spirited away -    automatically hides windows youre not using anymore by Drikin
add-art - a web browser plugin that replaces advertising with art by Steve Lambert

now get off my blog and start doing your work.
